A Visit With Old Friends, or "Sonoran Interlude", aka "Inspecting The Wall"

Hello All, I decided to take a spin down to the Organ Pipe area south of Ajo as well as the Saddle Mountain Area just SW of Tonopah.  I had been to both last winter, though Saddle Mtn only for a brief lunch stop, but I wanted to explore both further.  Plus I knew they were warm.  It turned out they were both a little too warm, basically highs in the upper 80s and lows in the upper 50s.  Nights were beautiful, though the waxing moon made it more difficult to see the stars.  Days were tolerable if you could stay out of the direct sun, which was like a blacksmith's hammer.

Several notable adventures were enjoyed but you will have to see the picture commentary here to access it.

At one point in the narrative attached to the story I'm telling about an AZPM (Arizona Public Media) story I'm hearing on the local NPR station and I say listen to it but I can't include a link in the photo comments so I'm putting that link here.  It's exactly about the event I witnessed.

Now I'm back in the Phoenix area because my car informs me it's time for some routine maintenance and the only Honda Autonation in the state is here.  A good time to catch up and consider next moves.  Possibly up into the nearby mountains since weather predictions hold reasonable for the next 6-7 days.  Remember to keep your radio dial set right here on KPRF!
