After a lovely and relaxing exodus from Michigan by way of Evanston, Davenport, and western Nebraska I had a great week (almost) in Denver to reorganize and catch up with family and friends.
With severely bad weather imminent in Denver (already snowing, actually) I left Sunday morning 10/27 headed for lower and warmer elevations. So far I have had a beautiful drive down many stream-graced canyons lit with golden cottonwoods and have arrived in Safford, AZ, on the night that the cold front finally will overtake me, but only projected to get down to the mid 30s here tonight (because I've made it down to 3000 feet elevation and gone about 600 miles south) in the Walmart parking lot.
Tomorrow I'm planning to head back to the Gila Box Riperian NCA but to the west portion this time, having just come through the east portion. But that will be for the next chapter.
I'm trying something new with this post and that is annotating my story in comments attached to the pictures in the Google Album. So click on the link below to go to the album and make sure to check for comments on some of the pictures to get the description that goes with them.
The pics!
Best,
Chris
