On a Personal Note

What do I hope to learn from my project?  (That's a reference to a question I asked my honors students to answer when submitting their honors project applications -- which I referred to previously in my "Payback" post below -- and which I consider my experiment/adventure documented by this blog to be my equivalent of.)

I hope to learn how to live with less; less stuff and a simpler set of responsibilities (no home or cars to maintain personally, for example) and less distractions and therefore more time for other contemplations.  Assuming I have any free time left over after teaching (which has never been the case before but hope springs eternal) I'd like to possibly start a Frisbee club, see if there are any blues bands around looking for a drummer (or try to drum one up -- ba dum ching! -- among the students) and explore around a bit.  I always enjoy relaxing with a good book and in my dreams I might have the discipline to try some writing (see eternally springing hope).  Plus I'm really looking forward to some yummy new food!
