Cat-Sitting Part 1, then Fence-building in Tuscon

Hi All Y'all, I'm already wrapping up cat-sitting gig #2 and still have to catch my blog up on cat-sitting gig #1!

The Freeman house in Scottsdale is very comfortable and features some great cacti plantings in the yard in addition to the cats.  There's also a bike I'm able to use while here so I've done a little riding around but not really that much because it's heavy suburbia here so there's not really anywhere that interesting to get to easily by bike unless you like shopping centers and golf courses.

After about a week of cat-sitting I high-tailed it (!!) back to Tuscon to help my friend Greg finish up (or at least get close to finishing up) his fence project.  The first morning I was back there we awoke to snow in Tuscon!  It was beautiful and fun and I was happy to be sleeping on a living room floor rather than in Vanessa.

Greg was his usual social self and hosted a very fun Oscars party and this year for the first time in about 20 years or more I'd actually seen a lot of the films so I really enjoyed the event.  He also hosted a nice cocktail party for his across-the street neighbors and went out to a 50's themed party with a friend as well on another night.  Wow, I don't know how he can do it all!  I was happy to stay in and chill with Greg's friend/neighbor Lois for a couple of those evenings.

Then I had to jet back up here (to Scottsdale) again in time for the start of cat-sitting gig #2, but that, as they say, is another tail (har har).  Stay tuned!

Can you see two cats in this photo?

Willy likes to sleep on the kitchen counter.

Some of the cool cacti in the yard.

Willy also likes to drink running water out of the kitchen sink faucet.

Here's a common landscaping bush with pretty red flowers I saw on one of my bike rides around the area.

Willy expanded his trick to drinking out of the guest-bathroom tub tap, and his brother Louie soon followed suit.

A snowy morning in Tuscon!  Big fat flakes!

Greg and Lois' shared backyard.

One view of Greg's living room during cocktail hour.  I helped wire and hang the lamp in the top left corner of the picture.

Greg's kitchen as seen from the LR.

A little blurry, but gives a better sense of the entire space.  Love those big windows!
Snow on the Catalinas, where Dave and Nichole and I had been hiking the week before.  (Not bad composition given that I had to snap it from a moving car on the way back from Home Depot).
Lois and Greg the night of the 50s theme party.

The first of a huge number (as you'll see if you look at the whole archive) of photos I took trying to document Greg's 50's outfit.

Would you buy a car from this man?

The Frank Sinatra look.

Usually on the other side of the camera, I'm shown here with my buddy Tyler (who looks remarkably similar to Willy and Louie the two cats up here in Scottsdale).

Finally Greg's date for the evening, Brenda, arrived and my photo-mania ended.  (or did it?)
