It's Payback Time

I don't really know what I mean by that title, or rather I mean lots of things by it but the one I was just thinking about is that my creating this blog to document my "research" (okay, I'll give it the quotes in case you haven't already in your mind) is like a payback to my honors physics and chemistry students from recent years, whom I asked to document their honors projects (which had to be online presentations of some sort) with a "making of" section.  I knew they were putting a lot of work into their product but it wasn't always visible because so much of it was learning curve for them and of course that's the point of the whole exercise.  So I asked them to document their work and say what they did (preferably with pictures, even better with moving pictures not to mention talkies!) and what troubles they had and how they persevered and what they learned as a result.  Because after all, isn't that the point?  It's not the destination that's important, it's the journey.  Blah blah blah blah.  You can see some of my students' work at these pages on my current and legacy teaching sites.  (Note the links to the projects are the in 'response' spreadsheets for the applications they submitted.  You have to scroll to the right.  It isn't all that obvious so let me know if you have any questions and still want to access those.)
